My grand dogs,
Olive & Hazel

Hi, I'm Julie Hartman.  I'm a life coach, as well as a teacher of mindfulness and meditation.  I also proudly wear the titles of wife, mom, daughter, sister and friend.

I spent what feels like my entire first 50 years struggling through jobs that left me drained and unfulfilled, painfully searching for my purpose in life.  Maybe you can relate. I've had twists and turns, upheaval, job changes, loss, identity crises, and of course, happiness, laughter and some really great food and wine.  Along the way, I've experienced failure and wins, made my share of mistakes, and gained insight and knowledge throughout.  I've spent 20+ years studying, researching, learning and applying the many aspects and tools for self development and transformation.  I love sharing, teaching, mentoring and uplifting others through my coaching and mindfulness work.

Through my own inner work and with the help of my coaches, I realized that I developed the unconscious habit of resisting, rather than embracing, inevitable change. If something didn't go "my way", I would spiral out of balance and off track.  This slippery slope would take me into questioning my sense of identity and create self doubt and anxiety. This, as you may have experienced too, feels awful. Thank goodness distress often brings our greatest opportunities for growth.

I've learned that giving away my power, by playing the blame game, was detrimental to my well being. Once I figured out that I alone am responsible for my thoughts, actions and behaviors, I became empowered to live the life I wanted for myself. I no longer wanted to allow circumstances or others to define my "why?". Now I help others uncover their own journey of discovery to living their best life.  Difficulties and change really do open the door to happiness that you never even knew was there patiently waiting.

A peek into my life:

I’ve been married to the same great guy for over 30 years, and we have two grown children.  We moved to New England from Ohio in the late 1990's.  One of my motto's is that everything in life is better with a crumb topping and/or caramel. I'm not a fan of scary movies, but love a good comedy, documentary and binge watching NetFlix series. I also love doing yoga, reading and cooking, but not at the same time.  I am fiercely loyal to my cherished family, friends, colleagues and clients. I’m not afraid to admit when I’m wrong or don’t have the answer, and I will never give up trying. I love all animals, especially dogs. Our beloved shepherd Sasha crossed the rainbow bridge, so now I pour all my doggie love into my grand dogs Hazel and Olive!

I am a total food, wine and chocolate enthusiast. My DVR is full of my (wishful thinking) close friends Giada, Bobby, Ina, Tyler and Martha (these are all chefs, if you're not familiar with whom I am referring to). Sometimes I enjoy watching them with my other “friends”, Chardonnay and Cabernet.
