mindfulness & meditation
"As long as you are breathing there is more right with you than wrong with you" | Jon Katab-Zinn
If we allow it, true contentment can come from inside ourselves, rather than outside sources. If you're new to mindfulness, congratulations! You're about to embark on an exciting journey.
Most of us know the importance of healthy eating and exercise, but not all know how to train our brains. Science has proven mindfulness and meditation change brain chemistry for the better, reducing stress, depression and anxiety. Mindfulness leads to more kindness toward ourselves and others. Goodbye distraction and overwhelm. Hello peace, gratitude and calm.
I received my training through Mindful Schools, and now teach mindful tools and techniques to individuals, groups and organizations. I design the tools to be fun, simple and easy to integrate into busy lives and schedules. Experience has shown me that mindfulness and meditation need not be serious and rigid to be highly effective. My approach is one of curiosity and simplicity, to facilitate an easy shift from stress to self empowerment and ease.
“If it weren’t for my mind, my meditation would be excellent.” | Ani-Pema Chodron
I've had a personal meditation practice for nearly 25 years. My most profound experiences of the benefits were during 20+ hours of drug-free (by choice!) labor for both of my kids, and again while processing the deep grief when my dad died. Two experiences on opposite ends of the spectrum, but each transformed with conscious breathing and meditation. My daily meditation practice has immeasurably transformed my life and joy set point.
It's my passionate mission to share the benefits and techniques of mindfulness and meditation with as many people as possible. I believe that meditation, personally and in a group settings, will create a healthier, happier world for all.
